Osteoporosis ( weak bones) affects millions of women after menopause. We lose bone mass rapidly in our early 50's ( when we are supposed to be on menopause) but continue losing it at a slower rate throughout the rest of our lives. The undesirable consequence is the propensity to fractures, especially when we fall. ( not to mention we shrink).
Bone strength depends not only on our bone quantity ( determined by minerals) , but our bone quality or bone matrix which is composed mainly of collagen and other proteins. I recommend every woman that is on the perimenopausal stage to have a baseline Dexa ( bone density scan) and to follow up every 2 years to have the appropriate interventions to assure an optimal bone density ( normal levels), to reverse osteopenia (mild loss of bone mass ), and especially to reverse Osteoporosis ( weak bones).
Learning the most important interventions to prevent, treat and reverse osteoporosis help us conquer the challenge!. Which ones, you may ask?
Do men get osteoporosis? Yes they do. It is somewhat different in men but the therapies are mostly the same.
Can you reverse Osteoporosis without taking the conventional medications for it ? The answer is yes. Not everyone is a candidate for those medications, and some of us are very concerned regarding the side effects, including those on our teeth and jaw bone. The protocols, although not the easiest, are very effective. I am a great testimonial. Within only 1 year I was able to reverse my osteoporosis and gained 5% of my bone mass, putting me in the osteopenia category. My next goal: becoming normal again .
As a Longevity doctor and my own first patient, I am passionate to make mine and my patient’s aging process a healthy one. I know modern medicine will keep us alive for many years, but not necessarily in great shape. It is my mission to become a healthy and strong elderly person, full of vitality, and I wish the same for all my patients.
